Cycling England encourages the flexible interpretation of design guidance and the trialling of innovative designs, using experimental schemes where appropriate. Cycling England has issued a guidance note on good practice common in Europe, to augment existing technical manuals. This website will also includes a photo library of examples of good practice.
We expect that the Cycling Demonstration Towns to provide a test bed for many new initiatives and Cycling England will also support other local authorities in developing cycle friendly infrastructures and improving their Local Transport Plans through its Cycling Advisory Service.
